More Details
Upon your arrival at the airport in Fez, we'll transfer you to your hotel, where you can relax and settle in. We'll then embark on a tour of the new part of the city, exploring the modern aspects of Fez.
Fez is renowned as the artisanal and religious capital of Morocco, boasting a rich cultural heritage dating back to the Almohad dynasty. As one of the imperial cities, Fez is steeped in history and craftsmanship, with one of the largest medinas in the world. Highlights of our tour will include visits to the Madrasas, traditional Islamic schools; the souk, renowned for its vast array of spices; the Karauin Mosque, the oldest university in the world; as well as mosques, squares, the Andalusian quarter, pottery workshops, palaces, and museums.
Fez truly embodies the essence of Moroccan craftsmanship, and we'll have the opportunity to witness artisans at work, creating exquisite handicrafts using age-old techniques.
After a day of exploration, we'll retreat to a traditional riad for a peaceful night's rest, surrounded by the beauty and charm of Fez.
After a delightful breakfast, we embark on a picturesque journey to the Middle Atlas mountains. Our first stop is the charming town of Ifrane, often referred to as the "Switzerland of Morocco" due to its resemblance to a Swiss mountain village. We continue our journey through the magnificent cedar forests of the region.
As we travel further south, we cross the High Atlas Mountains, marveling at the breathtaking landscapes along the way. Our next destination is Errachidia, where the first signs of the lush Tafilalet region appear, creating a microclimate ideal for growing various fruits and vegetables in the oasis of vegetation.
Continuing our journey, we arrive at Erfoud, the economic hub of the Tafilalet region, renowned for its abundance of fossils that bear witness to the region's ancient past when it was submerged under the sea. From here, we leave the asphalt behind and venture into the Saharan adobe tracks, leading us to the village of Merzouga, where we'll enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night at a hotel, ready to immerse ourselves in the beauty of the Sahara.
Today, we delve deeper into the wonders of Erg Chebbi. We begin by visiting the captivating city of Khamlia, known for its vibrant culture and traditional music. Next, we'll explore small towns and houses nestled in unexpected locations, offering a glimpse into life far removed from civilization.
One of the highlights of our day is a visit to the nomadic tribes who call this desert home. They will graciously invite us to join them for an unforgettable experience: a camel ride into the desert to spend the night under the starlit sky. We'll be staying in traditional nomadic tents, providing us with a truly authentic desert experience.
After a satisfying breakfast, our journey continues to Rissani, known as the ancient Sijilmassa, a historic center and supply hub for the caravans of the Sahara. We then traverse a semi-desert landscape, eventually arriving at the oasis of Tinghir, renowned as one of the most picturesque places in Morocco.
Our next destination is the Todra River, where we'll encounter the impressive Todra Gorges, towering over 300 meters high. We'll explore the village and then follow the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to Ouarzazate, one of the most significant cities in southern Morocco, famed for its vibrant film industry and numerous cinematic productions, including "Gladiator," "Troy," and "The Mummy." We'll visit the historic Kasbah of Taurirt before enjoying a delicious dinner and spending the night at a hotel in Ouarzazate.
After breakfast, we embark on a journey to Ait Ben Haddou, known as the queen of the kasbahs and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, we'll explore the stunning kasbah and its rich history.
Next, we visit one of the most magnificent sights in Morocco, the Kasbah de Telouet, once the ancient palace of the Pacha Marrakech. This historic site offers a glimpse into Morocco's rich architectural and cultural heritage.
Continuing our journey, we traverse the Tizin Tichka Pass, the highest mountain pass in Morocco at 2,260 meters above sea level, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Finally, we arrive in the imperial city of Marrakech, where we'll spend the night in a charming riad, ready to explore this vibrant city the next day.
After breakfast, we embark on a full day of exploration to discover the vibrant city of Marrakech. Legend has it that the city was founded by a tribe from the other side of the Atlas Mountains, who planted a palm tree upon finding an abundance of dates and bones in the area. Known as 'the red city' for the color of its walls, Marrakech is a city of gardens, watered by underground wells known as Khettaras, and rich in history dating back to the Almoravid and Saharan nomads of the 11th century.
Our itinerary includes visits to iconic landmarks such as the Menara Gardens, the historic Casbah, the ornate Saadian Tombs, the exquisite Bahia Palace, the grand Koutoubia Mosque, the serene Majorelle Gardens, and the bustling souks. A highlight of the day is a visit to the lively Djemaa El Fna square, where the essence of Marrakech comes to life with dancers, storytellers, jugglers, artisans, merchants, and snake charmers, creating a vibrant tapestry of sights and sounds.
After a day of exploration, we return to our riad in Marrakech, where we'll spend the night, reflecting on the wonders of this enchanting city.
Free time until we transfer it to the airport before departure, and this will be the end of our services.
